Description
Day of arrival: Pick up at BSI Reykjavík and arrival at Gröf approximately 3-3 1/2 hours later. After settling in and a light meal, it’s time for our guests to meet the horses. Riding tour along light, sandy beach of Gröf to get to know the horses.
For the next six days, we ride from Gröf through a breath taking, ever-changing landscape. From the sandy beach of Gröf, through rough lava of Búðahraun, over sparkling streams and rivers until we reach the golden, sandy coastline of Löngufjörur. The smooth trail of Löngufjörur, only revealed by low tide, is as thrilling and exiting for the horse as the rider, as the horses can run free without any obstacles to slow them down.
At the end of the day, we return to our farm Gröf.
One of the highlights of this tour, is the ride along Löngufjörur near Skógarnes at spring tide, when even more of the sand is exposed and the ground is even softer. There we take an adventurous roundtrip on the wide-open beach and ride into the small islands along the coast.
On the way back to Gröf, there is a full view of the strikingly beautiful glazier Snaefellsjokull. First we ride along the coast-line but for the last two days we trail by the roots of the colourful mountains of Snæfellsnes peninsula.

What is included
• Transfer to the farm and back to Reykjavík/Keflavík airport
• Full board during the stay is provided. We are proud to serve local produce; fresh meat and fish from the area and greens and herbs from the garden. Vegetarian meals are available if requested in advance. All riders make their own packed lunch from the breakfast table
• Rain wear and riding helmet

• Individual travel insurance is not included in the tour price. We encourage clients to obtain relevant travel insurance before visiting Iceland
• Flight to and from Iceland is not included
